June 6. 2012 Nontron, Brantome to Siorac-en-Perigord France

We left Saint Junian at 9.00pm and travelled south to Siorac en-Perigord where we are staying two nights. We travelled 173 km keeping off the motorways so we could drive through some of the little villages on the way in the Perigord region. Down through Pluviers then onto the two towns below.

The first village we stopped at for a walk around was Nontron quaint old French
village, the three photos below.

The second village was Brantome which was very pretty with waterways all around it making the town on an island. They call this another little Venice but doesn't have the canals that Lake Annecy had.

Photos below all of Brantome

We have a day planned tomorrow to explore all around  where we are staying in the Dordogne area.
Including the caves that Bruce O recommended.

By the way and guess what THE CAR WAS MEANT TO BE DELIVERED TO US TODAY AND IT IS NOW 7.00PM AND WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING.  Pete is onto his third beer waiting.
