Another great day just a few fluffy clouds. We left this morning by train for Monaco. Wow what a place. Don't think that I have ever seen such a clean and manicured place. The streets are spotless and the gardens, especially around the casino area are very well looked after. Ever thing just seems to sparkle.
The train took 35mins and came in very close up behind the harbour. Just walked out of the station and there it all was. I loved it.
There is the main boat harbour although you see several other smaller harbours scattered around, tucked away especially in front of peoples homes.
This is probably about an average size. Just rows of them. How would you like one of those Joe?
You will be sick of me posting all these photos of boats and harbours, but what else is there, around these places.
The whole coastline between Nice and Monaco is amazing. A lot of little towns just on the coastline with these high rocky hills that almost go straight up behind them. It all looks so peaceful and relaxing. People lying on little beaches having a great time and the water is so clear, just beautiful.
The Palace which sits high up on the hill. Lovely area with great views looking down over the town and harbour.
The changing of the guards which takes place at 12.00 noon every day. Lots of people gathered to see them.
The fountain was in the beautiful gardens around the Casino.
One of the streets on our walk.
More of the gardens which are so well maintained. The Norfolk Pine on the left.
The casino, great old building where the gardens are. And no we didn't have a flutter.
This is what you see all the time. The area really is for the rich and famous. Really felt out of our league.
McLaren car. PT reminded the salesman that it was named after a New Zealander, and he said "yes I know."
The famous bend of the Grand Prix circuit.
The tunnel were they race through at, we were told 180mph. There's that man again.
Nana's new car........................
Another kids electric car, a Mercedes . This one was new and cost 500 Euros. No, boys you can not have another one, sorry.
Look at the little old church which now has a road built over it. The old times and the new.
We decided to do the town on the hop on and off bus, but the circuit was only half an hour so didn't get much for your money. Still did our usual walking as well. Love to know how far we have walked since we arrived two weeks last Wednesday. We are always walking. Got back to our apmnt at 4.00pm and just rushed down to the pool for a swim. So hot. The train was packed on the way home. While dinner was cooking rushed down and caught up with the washing. So feel all up to date and I have just finished blog, so will now sit back. About an hour before bedtime. Goodnight.
